French films make me crave cigarettes, red wine, and romance. When I grow up I hope to be as cool and interesting as Anna Karina, and to successfully meet someone as liberal and artsy as Jean-Luc Godard.
I am thrilled every two weeks when my New York Magazine arrives in my small town mailbox. It makes me feel as if there is a thriving, vibrant civilization existing beyond my amish country borders. I was impressed with the article and photographs on Paz de la Huerta. I have not seen many of her films, but she truly sounds interesting.
Last weekend I made a road trip up to Iowa City to attend Arts Fest. I wanted to stop in for a quick hello at the Daily Iowan, and ended up attending the staff barbeque. As in most DI photo staff parties there were plenty of cameras, photo shoots, and drinks.

This is a slideshow I made for The Daily Iowan earlier this year. Looking through this makes me wish I stuck with ballet. I love shooting and watching dance. It needs no words to express some type of emotion. The movements here were very beautiful and fluid, with soft lighting in the background which made for an interesting photo.
I love that feeling. That sudden heart wrenching moment when some song, quote, or photo captivates you, making you forget how to breathe. New York Times Canadian photographer Velibor Bozovic caught my attention this morning with his Eastern European photographs.
